ABC Reality TV Shows
ABC has been home to a number of popular reality shows over the years. One of the first reality shows to reach a high level of popularity was America's Funniest Home Videos, which first aired in November of 1989. This show continues to be popular, and the series has been renewed for 2007 and 2008. On this show, viewers will send them homemade videos which show funny moments that have happened to them or members of their family or friends. The style of comedy used for this show is often referred to as slapstick comedy, and it is mostly accidents.
A selection of videos is chosen by the producers each week, and the audience votes on them. The first place winner is given $10,000, and the second place winner $3000. The third place winner gets $2000. The winner of the $10,000 prize is eligible for the grand prize, which is $100,000. This show has the largest number of episodes for any reality show on ABC.
