American Idol Season 7
The winner of American Idol Season 7 was David Cook.
Season 7 of American Idol saw the Battle of the Davids in the finale. This season allowed the contestants to play musical instruments while singing and several took advantage of that opportunity. Themes throughout the year included the Lennon/McCartney Songbook, the '60s, '70s, and '80s, the year the contestant was born, Mariah Carey, and Dolly Parton.
The show began on January 15 and ended on May 21, 2008 with David Cook being named the season seven American Idol. All-in-all, 97 million votes were cast, with David Cook received approximately 12 million more votes than runner-up David Archuleta. For the first time, neither finalist had ever been in the bottom two or three. Both Davids went on to have successful debut albums.

American Idol: Kris Allen is the New American Idol!
Posted: 20 May 2009
After missing the first 30 minutes of “American Idol” thanks to crummy cable service (ugh), it finally came on and I got to see Anoop and Alexis singing. I still think she got a raw deal leaving the show so soon.
Of course, I shouldn’t have been too upset about missing the first 30 minutes. [...]
American Idol: Kris and Adam Battle It Out
Posted: 19 May 2009
It seems like the auditions just ended, but this was the second to the last episode of “American Idol” this season. It was the final showdown between mellowed out Kris and rock god Adam.
Kris chose to perform after Adam. That seems like a wise move, but if Adam knocks it out of the [...]
American Idol: Kris and Adam are in the Finale!

The eight season finale of “American Idol” has been decided. It will be a battle not of the Davids, but perhaps more of battle of David and Goliath as super strong rocker Adam goes up against meek, mild mannered Kris.
Tonight’s show featured more hometown hullaballoo, official days, keys to the city, yadda yadda yadda. [...]
American Idol: Allison Leaves

Big night on “American Idol” – tonight’s elimination decides the final three. We got to see Slash play in the opening number – that was nice. Danny let us know that he heard his scary note last night was being turned into ringtones. Hopefully not by any of my friends!
Performing tonight was [...]
American Idol: Rock Night with Slash

It was Rock Night on “American Idol” but there wasn’t a whole lotta rockin going on in my opinion. These was also a new twist to the night – duets! Could have done without that, but they had to find some way to stretch the show out.
First up was Adam with “Whole Lotta [...]
American Idol: Matt Leaves the Show

Well, this week, American almost pulled a Chris Daughtry – again – on “American Idol.” Simon said that after he watched last night’s show again, he realized that everyone did well. This is a tough, tough season.
After a cake throwing segment (if it really cost 6k to clean up, I need to be [...]
American Idol: Rat Pack Night
Posted: 28 Apr 2009
Okay, not really sure what Jamie Foxx has to do with the Rat Pack, but he was the mentor on “American Idol” tonight. I know he is a successful recording artist, but I would have rather seen Michael Buble mentoring the group this week.
Kris was up first and might I just say [...]
American Idol: Disco Night
Posted: 21 Apr 2009
I love disco and most the American Idols did it up right. The night started out with Lil singing “I’m Every Woman.” It seems like the same thing each week – the judges want her to sing a big song, but she can’t quite pull it off. Apparently Lil’s been sick and [...]
American Idol: Matt Gets Saved!

After seeing the American Idols go to the 17 Again premiere, Ryan asked Allison to stand up. She found out she was safe. Ryan called out Adam – do we even need to hear the results? Well, I listened, just to make sure – he was safe. And apparently, he likes [...]
American Idols: Music from the Movies

Quentin Tarantino was back on “American Idol” tonight, this time to mentor the contestants. Simon apologized to the viewers after last week’s blunder (DVRs all over the country cut off Adam’s performance) – of course, he blamed it on the girls talking too much. And, I just wonder who had the unfortunate job [...]
