AI: 03-21-07 Results
The headlines of CNN read “American Idol has a surprise elimination” but last night’s elimination really wasn’t that big a surprise to me. Ryan called the contestants up in groups of three. Phil, Melinda, and Blake were the first to be told they were safe. Then Chris S., Lakisha, and Jordin were told they were safe. Next up was Sanjaya, Haley, and Gina. Was a bit surprised Gina wasn’t in the bottom two, but I guess the rockers are voting for her. That left Chris R. and Stephanie as the bottom two.
Chris R. was told he was safe and Stephanie was eliminated. Yes, Stephanie was good, but she had had a couple of “just allight” nights as Randy would say. I didn’t think Chris R. belonged in the bottom two, but maybe his slow version of “Don’t Let the Sun Catch You Crying” was too slow for the teeny booper set. Plus, it is obvious every girl under the age of 13 is voting for Sanjaya. I thought Phil would be near the bottom as well, but apparently, the entire United States Navy is voting for him.
