AI - Top 10 Girls Perform
I wasn’t as impressed with the girls this week as last week. Gina is not one of my favorites, but the judges liked her, with the exception of Simon wanting to give her fashion tips. Alaina seemed to run out steam as Simon said half way through her song. Randy called it a mess. Lakisha wasn’t quite as brilliant as I thought she would have been with “Midnight Train to Georgia” but I think she is still a frontrunner.
Melinda was the one to beat this week and no one could. She just blew the judges and audience away. Simon said she was the best so far in the competition. Antonella – ugh. You know it is a bad sign when the first thing out of a judges mouth is “You look beautiful tonight.” The song was too big for her. And I don’t care what she says about Simon being wrong about Jennifer Hudson, he’s not wrong about Antonella. I think the only thing that can keep her around this week are her racy Internet pics.
Jordin did well and Simon said she had massive potential. Stephanie put in another great performance – she’s 2 – 0. I liked Leslies’ song this week much better than last, but Randy said it was a little pitchy. Haley should know from watching Idol that you never, ever take on a Whitney song unless you can knock it out of the park. And she didn’t knock “Queen of the Night” out of the park in my opnion. Sabrina continued to step up, putting in another fantastic performance.
Right now, it seems to be between Lakisha, Melinda, Jordin, and Sabrina. Everyone else is just falling by the wayside.
