Amazing Race 9, episode 6 with a new night and time

If you thought you missed last night’s episode of Amazing Race you didn’t. I’m not sure why but CBS decided to move it to Wednesday nights and an hour earlier here in the Mountain Time zone.

The previews show the teams trying to either sell items in an open market or transport goods, such as large fish, from one area of the market to another. Fran and Barry are shown doing quite well while Monica provides the breakdown drama by failing to carry the large and dirty fish.

The episode starts with BJ and Tyler in first followed by Eric and Jeremy. These two teams have traded first and second place throughout this season. Joseph and Monica are again in third while Fran and Barry have managed to get into fourth place. Then it’s Lake and Michelle, Dave and Lori, and Ray and Yolanda in last place. Down to only seven teams the competition is getting tougher.

I really want to see Ray and Yolanda step up to their perceived potential. They’re both strong and intelligent and seem to work well as a team. BJ and Tyler and Eric and Jeremy are a ton of fun to watch but they’re making it look almost too easy.

I’m glad to see Fran and Barry hanging in there as I picked them from the beginning as contenders but they seem to make some bad decisions and make silly errors along the way. Maybe they’ve found their stride and they will continue to gain position tonight.

So I’m rooting for Fran and Barry to have their first first-place finish and want to see Ray and Yolanda come out of last place. I’d be just fine watching Lake and Michelle get last place but tonight is likely not an elimination round so we may be stuck with them for at least another leg.

Of course, if the hippies or the frat-boys again pull in at first it won’t be much of a surprise.
