Amazing Race: Bye Bye Grannies
This week’s Amazing Race was a long episode – I felt like I had been around the world! The teams set out for Warsaw Poland. They were given tickets, but told if they could find a better flight, that was fine. Poor Eric and Danielle and the Guidos got stuck when their plane arrived too late for the connection. This put them way behind for the entire two-hour show.
The first Detour was Perfect Pitch (tune a piano) or Perfect Angle (carry a mannequin to a clinic and have him x-rayed for the next clue). The Blondes did amazingly well tuning the piano, but it kicked Charla and Mirna’s butt. They had to switch to the mannequin. I don’t know who everyone in Poland was so rude to Charla and Mirna – even a cop wouldn’t help them find a place. Have they never seen a little person there?
The Blondes won the first part of the trip – before Eric and Danielle and the Guidos had even gotten into Poland! So, the Blondes set off on the second leg of the trip. The teams had to visit Auschwitz, the infamous Nazi death camp from World War II. All the teams were touched by visiting. Did I mention it was dark and foggy when most arrived – it was creepy! The Guidos arrived last for the first leg, but it was non-elimination. However, they were so far behind, their only hope was someone got horribly lost and they could make the 30 minute wait. Eric and Danielle were at each other’s throats this week as were Charla and Mirna.
There was an intersection tonight. Oswald and Danny and Uchenna and Joyce worked together and took the fast forward – beating all the teams by quite a bit. Unselfishly, Oswald and Danny let Uchenna and Joyce have the first place trip. The other teams had to face another Detour – Eat It Up or Roll It Out. Eat it up included making sausages then eating two feet of sausage – each! Why the teams chose to do this, I will never know. One of the blondes puked then Charla had to make herself throw up to get it all down – ew! For the Roadblock, one team member had to dress as a Knight in amour and lead a horse to a stable guy. Poor Charla – she feel down twice and Mirna still kept harassing her!
The Guidos finished last and they were eliminated. I hate that – I liked the grannies.
