Amazing Race: Christie and Jodi Finish Last, but Aren’t Eliminated

On “The Amazing Race” this week, teams left on the Trans-Siberian Railroad for Novosibirsk. They had to find the Punkt Tehnicheskogo Osmotra (I swear I feel as if I am just typing a bunch of random letters!) for the next clue. It looked cold, cold, cold there. The train didn’t leave until after 10 p.m., so everyone was on it. At least it was a sleeper car, so that was cool.

The clue was a Detour – Russian Bride or Russian Snowplow. With Russian Bride, they had to choose a car, drive to an apartment complex, and search for a bride. Then, they have to drive her to a church to meet her groom and have a pic taken with the two. In Russian Snowplow, players had to choose a car and drive to the stadium. They had to take a snowplow through a course for the next clue. The teams had trouble driving the cars on the icy roads. Tammy and Victor drove off and left Margie and Luke, which ticked them off. I liked when Christie and Jodi talked about the locals “reeking of vodka.” They might have been reeking of something, but I don’t believe vodka has a smell. The guys were messing with them, and then flipped them off. Stupid American blondes, I am sure they were thinking. Kisha and Jen killed the car, but were able to start it. But, they kept having trouble with it. Christie and Jodi found the bride, but went to the wrong church. And are those girls just short or was the bride like 9 feet tall?

Next teams had to drive to the largest library in Siberia. The next clue was a Roadblock. Ouch, one team member had to run 1.4 miles – in their underwear. At least the theater they had to run to was the pit stop. Victor said he was jealous that Tammy got to do it. Um, I think this is one Roadblock I would have been happy to have missed. Hey, how come the Russian guys they were running with got to wear clothes? I thought it was odd that Cara was hoping for hoots and hollers. At least the one dude tried to hit on her, so that seemed to make her happy. Luke finished the race first, probably because he said he was afraid to slow down and let anyone see him running in his underwear. Kisha had to get underwear because we found out she doesn’t wear any (TMI!). Of course, Christie’s thong wasn’t any better.

Luke and Margie came in first. He should have won clothes for finishing first, but they won a trip to St. Lucia. Tammy and Victor were second, Cara and Jamie were third, Mike and Mel finished in fourth, and Mike and Mark got lost in the theater, but still finished in fifth. Kisha and Jen finished in sixth and Christie and Jodi pulled a first to worst in coming in last. They weren’t eliminated though – they will have to do the speed bump next leg of the race.
