Amazing Race: Mark and Bill are Eliminated
This week’s Amazing Race started with Christy accusing Star of hurling her sports bra out the window. The teams headed for La Paz, Bolivia, 12,000 feet above sea level. They had to look at the classified ads for the next clue. But first, they got to camp out to wait on the paper. The girls looked a bit ridiculous putting on makeup on the street.
The next clue was to make their way to a hat shop and buy a hat. The Detour was next – Musical March (walk to plazas and collect musicians to form a band) or Bumpy Ride (ride a wooden bike down cobblestone street). There was a U-Turn at the end of the detour. Some of the contestants were having trouble breathing due to the altitude. The catch to picking the band members was that they played and marched slowly. Christy crashed her bike…twice.
The next destination was Los Titanes del Ring. It was funny when Mark and Bill’s taxi driver stopped for gas. Ty and Aja’s taxi broke down. Next was the Roadblock – the fighting cholitas. The contestant trained for the fight and if they missed a step, they had to retrain. Of course, the fighting was in slow motion, but it was still funny. Ken managed to impress Tina though. Poor Mark didn’t do his re-entry correctly and had to do through training again. The air was getting to him too and he had to have oxygen. Then he kept messing up and being sent back. Aja tells Christy that Star tried to get her and Ty to U-Turn them.
The pit stop was Mirador el Monticulo. Ken and Tina finished first (again). They got a trip for two to Cabo San Lucas. Toni and Dallas finished in second place. The other teams raced each other for the finish line. Third went to Terence and Sarah and fourth went to Marisa and Brooke.
Aja and Ty barely beat out Star and Nick for fifth. Seventh went to Andrew and Dan. Poor Mark and Bill realize they took a taxi to the detour instead of going by foot, so they got a time delay of 30 minutes. Christy and Kelly were on their way there, so I figured they would easily get there in time and they did, so Mark and Bill were eliminated.
This bums me out – I was really rooting for the nerd guys.
