Amazing Race: Mika and Canaan are Eliminated
The “Amazing Race” teams left for the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club to search the marina for their next clue. Before leaving, they had to pick up a briefcase to take with them. At the club, they found a Roadblock – one team member had to row in an inflatable raft to a yacht to retrieve a watch. They had to then open the briefcase by figuring out that the time on the watch (8:35) was the combination. The Globetrotters were taken to the wrong yacht club – I guess that happens often in Dubai! Then, they over thought the combination to the briefcase and that put them way behind.
In the briefcase was a clue telling the teams to head to the Abra Station. There, they found a Detour – gold (go to jewelry store to weigh out $500,000 worth of gold using the changing gold rate) or glass (go to a spice market and assemble 12 hookahs). Meghan got frustrated by the hookah construction. Of course, it didn’t help that they were leaving the washers out. Ericka and Brian went for the gold detour and that was frustrating so they finally left, but had problems with the hookah pipes too. Sam and Dan took the gold detour and fortunately had a calculator. However, they were not quick enough to use it, so thankfully, Maria and Tiffany showed up to help them out. Flight Time and Big Easy decided to switch from hookahs to the gold and asked the guy for a calculator, so it was fairly easy for them too.
Next, the teams had to go to Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai and search for the water park. I knew this was not going to be a good thing for many of the teams as they had to go down a six story water slide. Brian, who doesn’t like heights made Ericka, who doesn’t like water, go first. The big hold up was Mika. Canann tried to kinda push her down the slide at one point while she screamed “Help me.” He kept trying to coax her into going down the slide until finally Big Easy and Flight Time, who were in last place, showed up. That mean Mika had two minutes to go down the slide before she had to move over and let them through. They were messing with her, saying stuff about how they would walk back down with her and don’t do it if she was scared. She still hadn’t gone when the two minutes were up and Canaan told Big Easy he was a piece of crap for messing with her.
Meghan and Cheyne, with their big fast forward lead came in first. Maria and Tiffany finished in second, Sam and Dan (with their “Baywatch” moment as the girls called it) finished in third, and Brian and Ericka finished in fourth. Gary and Matt, who together dyed his hair, finished in fifth and the Globetrotters finished in sixth. Mika never went down the slide and she and Canaan were eliminated. At least he said he forgave her at the end.
