Amazing Race: Pat and Kate Eliminated
I hate this – Pat and Kate were such a cute couple on the Amazing Race and were the only ones so far to provide any comic relief this season. We saw the teams leave Shannon for Amsterdam. Of course, they didn’t all get on the same flight, but Julia and Marianna were way behind – alone on a third flight after getting lost on the way to the airport.
Once the teams got to Amsterdam, they looked for a bridge where they found a detour – hoist it or hike it. For hoist it, they had to pull furniture up the outside of a building. For hike it, they had to look through many, many bikes for ones with certain colored tags. Most everyone chose hoist it, but Azaria and Hendekea lost their lead by choosing hike it. Then the teams ran into a roadblock. They had to vault over a ditch. It sounds easier than it was – well, Jason and Marianna had not problem with it, but others did. It was hilarious when Kynt landed in the mud after announcing he was “prissy.”
After the ditch, they had to take a Dutch cargo bike known as a bakfiets with one team member peddling and one riding to the pit stop at Durgerdam Yacht Club. Jason and Lorena were first and won sport bikes for their efforts. Nathan and Jennifer were second, Shana and Jennifer were third, Kynt and Vyxsin were fourth. Azaria and Hendekea finally finished fifth, just ahead of TK and Rachel. Marianna and Julia made up their deficient and finished seventh. Nicholas and Donald, who got almost naked for the pole vaulting, finished in eighth place. Ronald and Christina had fought much of the episode, but managed to finish ninth. I was hoping this would be a non-elimination episode, but when Pat and Kate finished, they were told they were eliminated.
