Amazing Race: Preston and Jennifer are Eliminated
The teams for the fourteenth season of “Amazing Race” are: Amanda and Kris (dating), Brad and Victoria (married), Cara and Jaime (former NFL cheerleaders), Christie and Jodi (flight attendants), Jennifer and Preston (dating), Kisha and Jen (sisters), Linda and Steve (married), Margie and Luke (mother and son), Mark and Michael (brothers/stuntmen), Mel and Mike (father and son), and Tammy and Victor (siblings/lawyers). For those that don’t know, Mike White is a writer/actor who has been in quite a few movies, so if he looks familiar, that is why!
The teams set out for Switzerland. They split up on the two flights with Preston and Jennifer missing their train. Oh, did he tell her to control her mouth? Yikes! Christie and Jodi followed a lady who says she is going to the same place. The team had to find the church of San Antonio, sign the register, and get a message from the priest. Christie and Jodi got there first. The later the team arrived, the later their departure date. They camped outside with mosquitoes. Steve made Linda cry because she was slow and couldn’t run. Um, sounds like he needs to have brunch with Preston.
The teams had to go to the Verzasca Dam, but the only clue they had was a picture. Christie and Jodi lost their lead because they couldn’t find a taxi. Jaime and Cara also had trouble. At the dam, they found a roadblock – one team member had to bungee jump off the dam (the second highest jump in the world). Of course, the stuntmen loved this roadblock.
Next, teams had to take a train to find Kleine Rugen Wiese. Teams had to climb to the top of the hill with a pair of antique cheese racks. Once there, they had to take 200 pounds of cheese back to the bottom of the hill. The hill was slippery and Mel was having a hard time. I was just waiting for someone to go tumbling over heard first! Margie lost her cheese when the rack broke. When Victor clipped and broke his rack, he carried the cheese down. Mel slid down on his butt – the locals were cracking up watching all this. Margie and Luke decided to take Mel’s tactic and just scooted down with the cheese.
The rest of the teams arrived as the first four finished. Poor Linda – she couldn’t even make it up the hill! Christie and Jodi were lost on the never ending train ride, but they finally made it. These teams didn’t have any better luck than the first four. Everyone was slipping and sliding all over the place. I think everyone hated cheese after this.
Teams had to race to the pit stop at Stechelberg. Once there, they had to find the yodelers. Margie and Luke were first and they won a trip for two to Puerto Vallarta. That was nice that Phil signed for Luke. Tammy and Victor came in second and Mark and Michael finished third. Mel and Mike finished fourth, Amanda and Kris were fifth, and Brad and Victoria were sixth. Jaime and Cara finished seventh while poor Steve and Linda kept walking around. Kisha and Jen finished eighth. Finally, Steve and Linda found their way to the yodelers and finished ninth. In a foot race to the finish, Christie and Jodi made it in tenth place. Of course, Preston was running with Jennifer on his back. They were eliminated.
