Amazing Race: Racing Around Hong Kong
Tonight the teams were to leave Malaysia for Hong Kong. The Blondes were the first to leave. Oswald and Danny moaned about being short on cash. Once they all arrived at the airport, they found out that Air China left at 8 am, with the counter opening at 5 am. The second flight was Malaysia Air, leaving at 9:15 am. Their counter opened at 4 am. Oswald and Danny left the Blondes at the Malaysia Air counter to wait while they walked around the airport. The found the office of Malaysia Air and got on standby first. Charla and Mirna found them and they all went to look for the office of Air China. I think they stunned the guy a bit by being there, but they got on standby for that flight too.
It ticked off the Blondes when they found out the others had gotten on standby while they waited at the counter, but the other teams, conspiring against the Blondes for yielding Eric and Danielle, felt it was just karma and decided to try to get rid of Dustin and Kandice. Danny and Oswald got tickets for Air China, leaving first at 8 am. Charla and Mirna and the Blondes all got on the 9:15 am flight, but Eric and Danielle were left behind.
Oswald and Danny got to the clue first and took the Fast Forward. They had to ride in a car with a stunt driver, so they really didn’t have to do much other than hold on tight. They arrived at the pitstop, the Hong Kong Jockey Club, first.
The Detour for the other teams was Kung Fu Fighting (climbing up 11 stories on bamboo ladders while kung fu fighters fought around them) or Lost in Translation (find a particular sign on a street filled with signs). Everyone took Kung Fu Fighting. After they complete the detour, they had to take the ferry to Hong Kong Island. The only problem was Charla and Mirna’s cabbie drove them to Hong Kong Island, so when they took the ferry, they were going away from where they needed to be. But they stayed on it and got back to Hong Kong Island.
The Roadblock was to kick down doors of a building, like a stunt person, to find the next clue. Charla had a bit of trouble and allowed Eric and Danielle to get a bit closer to them. The next clue was to drive to Victoria Park to a model boat pond then pull the gnome in a boat across the pond. The Blondes finished second. While it looked close between Charla and Mirna and Eric and Danielle, I don’t think it was really that close. Charla and Mirna finished third and Eric and Danielle finished in last. But it was a non-elimination round. However, they both seemed a bit weary of the race and they are marked for elimination next round.
