Amazing Race: Steve and Linda are Eliminated
The teams on Amazing Race headed off for Munich, Germany this week. While most teams called to get reservations, Christie and Jodie and Mark and Michael didn’t, which put them behind everyone else.
Once they arrived, they had to drive to Ruhpolding to find their clue. Tammy and Victor rode a cable car to the top of the mountain only to find a roadblock waiting for them. Someone had to paraglide off the mountain with an instructor while the other teammate took a gondola back down. But, when Tammy went to go, the winds were too strong and Tammy chose to take the 60 minute hike down the mountain rather than wait to see if the wind would die down. Victoria, Kris, Margie, and Linda followed her, but Mel knew he couldn’t make it down the mountain, so he waited. By the time Christie, Jen, and Mark arrived, Mel was still waiting. He tried to get someone to stay with him, but they all started the trek down the mountain as well. Finally, the winds did change and Mel flew down the mountain. Linda should have waited with Mel because she got off course. She finally got a ride back to Steve.
Next up was a Detour – Balancing Dolly (ride a Segway through a 2 mile obstacle course) or Austrian Folly (throw Austria pies at a target, which turned out to be their partner’s face!). With the pies, the teammate had to throw until they hit the target with a cherry filled pie. Tammy and Victor chose Austrian Folly and quickly found the cherry pie. Margie and Luke had more trouble finding the cherry pie while Mike and Mel chose the Segways. It was a good choice that landed them in second place!
The teams had to walk to Holzsager, find a mechanical woodcutter and have it cut a small piece of wood. That piece of wood would be stamped with the next clue. Christie and Jodi searched for wood rather than letting the woodcutter get it for them, which killed valuable time. The next clue was to drive to Salzburg then locate the Schloss Hellbrunn pit stop. Kisha and Jen got lost and had to ask for directions to the pit stop.
Arriving first was Tammy and Victor. Mel and Mike were happy with second place (it was funny seeing Mike try to climb over the gate), while Amanda and Kris finished third and Margie and Luke finished fourth.
Brad and Victoria finished fifth and Cara and Jaime finished sixth. Kisha and Jen finished in seventh place, Mark and Michael finished in eighth place, and Christie and Jodi finished in ninth place. Finishing last were Steve and Linda and they were eliminated.
