America’s Got Talent: More New York Auditions
“America’s Got Talent” continued tonight with auditions from NYC. The first four were duds – reggae rapper Jeffrey Widom, opera singer Dorothy Bishop, and singer David Glass, who had to be led off the stage by Nick. Personally, I think Moonwalker got a bum deal. He was a dancer who specialized in flexing, which is a contortion type of dancing. There was a whole crew of flexers on last season’s “America’s Best Dance Crew,” but Piers called him a “revolting act,” then put through Arthur Gulkrov, who basically did the same thing in a an outfit that looked like something worn by a belly dancer. Go figure!
Anyhow, there was some talent tonight. Nine year old guitarist Tallan Nobel Latz was great, there was a nameless dance couple that got 5 seconds of air time (rude, AGT, just rude), magician Nathan Burton (who barely got more than 5 seconds, but at least we knew his name!), and the African High Flyers. Piers didn’t seem to care for 74 year old disco dancer Tony Ferrante, but Sharon and David put him through as the crowd chanted “Tony, Tony, Tony.” He was pretty light on his feet for an old guy. Actually, he can dance much better than I can and I am almost half his age!
Kelli Glover was on Season 1 of “American Idol” and got cut, so it took her six years to decide to pursue singing again. She will be going to Vegas, but the Badd Girls (who really lived up to their name) won’t be. The Platt Brothers were what the Blue Man Group would be if they danced, and I am mean that in the nicest way.
The last act, of course, was inspirational. It was a group of postal workers, ages 21-76, called the Spiritual Harmonizers. Piers loved the lead singer, saying he was like a young Stevie Wonder and Sharon said he was what the show was about – an everyday person getting a stage to show off their extraordinary talent.

I would like to know the name of the song that Kelli Glover sang, that was and inspiration for me because I need to pursue my dream and still stuck in a situation that does not let me grow. Thanks you.

One of these first duds, Dorothy Bishop is an interesting illustration of the “fake”ness of this show. Watch this – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90QRVp5ebcM or this – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qu_2K6a4lCM
Now does this Dorothy Bishop sounds at all similar to the one we’ve seen on AGT? A little googling on the name and you find a singer who performed at Carnegie Hall.
So what happened? Was it a bad night? Is it possible that someone who can sing like she does on ALL other videos can do this weird collection of notes and terrible sounds just because of a bad night? Or maybe this was a bit of creative editing? You decide.

I thought I would answer these questions from all of the blogs about my “terrible” singing on AGT vs. my great singing in real life and youtube videos and my successful career as a singer. AGT would not let me sing my original song (said that they could not get the copyright) It was a cool funky version of Nessun Dorma which got me thru 3 rounds and right up to the executive producer of NBC. Suddenly I was told I could not sing it and that they would produce a track for me for a disco Carmen. They gave it to me the day before the show with the instruction “make this high and flashy like your Nessun Dorma” Well I tried………got nervous……cracked at that one part. But the rest was quite lovely. But did they show that part? No. Its all about ratings, and putting on a show.
Thank you for being open minded and looking at my vids on youtube. AGT was a fun experience despite the bad press. I will survive. LOL!
Thanks for watching and realizing that it is indeed manipulated and unfair.
But thats show biz. I have no regrets.
God bless
