America’s Best Dance Crew: The Banner Falls for Artistry in Motion
This week on “America’s Best Dance Crew” was the Beyonce challenge. The two crews in the dance-off were Artistry in Motion and Afroborike.
We are Heroes got the song “Single Ladies” and had to use strobe effects when grinding – in heels no less! Shane called it hot while JC liked it, but noted they didn’t use much of the stage.
Rhythm City got “Sweet Dreams” and had to update the Charleston. I honestly didn’t see it the first time and had to rewind to catch it, but they did do it. Lil Mama said their Charleston was okay, but she really liked their use of the prop (a bed with a screen behind it) at the beginning and end.
Massive Monkeys got “Work It Out” and their challenge was to use hula hoops. I thought the first move where they ran the hula hoop over the two guys on the floor was really cool. JC liked where one guy jumped through four hula hoops and another jumped over them at the same time. Shane thought it was dope when the guy in the middle used the other dancer as a hula hoop in sync with the other guys actually using hula hoops.
Beat Ya Feet Kings got “Crazy in Love” and had to do a creative version of the Uh Oh dance. All the judges agreed that Porche really shined during the routine. JC thought the locking was cool.
Southern Movement got “Jumpin Jumpin” and had to bounce, shake, twist, and dip. Lil Mama said they worked on their levels, but the challenge part could have been better. Shane thought the beginning was sharp and tight and JC agreed.
Vogue Evolution got “Déjà vu” and had to incorporate African dance into the routine. Shane said he can’t go anywhere without someone talking to him about Leiomy. Lil Mama said Leiomy was Beyonce and JC said their routine woke him up.
In the dance-off, Artistry in Motion got “Diva” and their challenge was to hold on to chains all at the same time. That was a tough challenge, but I thought they pulled it off well. Afroborike got “Beautiful Liar” and had to incorporate belly dancing. Shane said that routine was the sexiest he had seen on the show and that they bring something different to the competition.
After much praise last week, the banner fell for Artistry in Motion.
