America’s Best Dance Crew: The Banner Falls for A.S.I.D.
This week’s show was to feature the moves and music of Janet Jackson. Now, I like Janet and she can move, but for some reason, none of the performances this week really moved me.
The top three dance crews were Fanny Pak, Supreme Soul, and Boogie Bots. The bottom three was A.S.I.D., Super Cr3w, and SoReal Cru. It was SoReal Cru’s first time at the bottom, but they were really safe as Mario announced that the bottom two crews were A.S.I.D. and Super Cr3w.
Fanny Pak got the song “All Night (Don’t Stop)”. All the judges agreed the song was very sexy and that Fanny Pak killed it. Supreme Soul got “Nasty.” I liked when the one guy was in the middle with three guys on each side and they did the rolling hands thing – that was cool. Lil Mama though they killed it, but Shane said it was just okay. He expected more, as did JC. I liked it, but what do I know?
Boogie Bots performed to “Control.” I liked the ripple effect with the guy ending in the head slide. That was one of Lil Mama’s favorite moves too. Shane thought it was clever and even I didn’t catch the evolution thing at the end up until he mentioned it (then it was just all the more cool!). SoReal Cru got “I Get Lonely” but they should have got “Nasty.” Their routine was a bit risqué and some worried what their parents would think, but the judges told them it was not too provocative. Shane said it was the best performance of the night.
Super Cr3w danced to “Black Cat.” I loved when they had the one guy in the middle and were throwing him around. Shane said they were back 100% and JC said he saw a lot of Janet moves in their choreography. I thought A.S.I.D. did a good job, perhaps even better than some of the safe crews. They got “If” and Lil Mama said they “turnt” it up. JC liked both crews and said the judges had a hard decision.
In the end, they decided to send A.S.I.D. home, which made me a bit sad.
