America’s Best Dance Crew: The Banner Falls for Fanny Pak
Tonight, the final three of America’s Best Dance Crews – Super Cr3w, SoReal Cru, and Fanny Pak – had to take it back to the 80s. Each would perform twice – once for the Groove Step challenge and once for the Dance Movie challenge.
We found out that it was SoReal Cru, who has never been in the bottom, who was safe for one more week. Fanny Pak and Super Cr3w were in the bottom two. For the Groove Step challenge, each crew had a tricky physical task. Super Cr3w had to perform once with only four feet on the floor. Their dance was the Humpty Dance. Lil Mama loved their flairs, but Shane’s favorite move was the one handed hop on the other guy’s chest. SoReal Cru had to do a chain reaction in their Kid-n-Play dance. Lil Mama said they worked the 80s, but she expected more. JC pointed out that Andrew was loose. Fanny Pak had to dance the Ice Ice Baby dance horizontally. Lil Mama thought they did bring the 80’s energy (hey, it is Fanny Pak!), and Shane said at the beginning he said they would win and have ripped it every since.
However, that must have been the kiss of death. For the Dance Movie challenge, SoReal Cru got Breakin’. While Lil Mama and Shane were very excited by it, JC said he wasn’t sure it was his favorite. Super Cr3w got Footloose and Shane told them they totally represented B-boys. Fanny Pak got Flashdance. I loved at the end of the routine where they spoofed the judges – even JC was laughing.
When Mario asked for comments, Lil Mama and Shane pointed out good points about each, but JC let the voting public have it. He said that he did buy that SoReal Cru outdanced either of the other two crews. Lil Mama disagreed, but JC said there was no crew more athletic than Super Cr3w and no crew more creative than Fanny Pak.
In the end, the banner for Fanny Pak fell, which was sad, they had been on quite a run.
