It was down to three on “America’s Best Dance Crew” – Beat Freaks, Quest Crew, and Fly Khicks. The challenge this week was the hip hop decathlon. The crews had to dance to the same song and incorporate threading, tutting, krumping, housing, and waving into the longest performance of the season.

Beat Freaks were told they were safe and going to the finals, which meant Quest Crew had to face off against Fly Khicks. Of the Beat Freaks performance, Shane loved it. JC said he thought their krumping section was the best and Lil Mama agreed.

Quest Crew was up next. Some of their performances this season have not been their best and at times, I’ve felt they had an unfair advantage over some of the other crews due to exposure on “So You Think You Can Dance” – you know, Hok and D-Trix already had a fan base. But tonight, they were not kidding. They had the audience AND the judges on their feet at the end of this performance. Lil Mama said “Y’all want it!” and said they dominated every task. Shane said it just became serious and that they 100% represented while JC called it “amazing.” It was funny when Shane talked about the one guy being buff then Mario gave him a hard time for it.

Fly Khicks were told by JC that they were underestimated and every time they came back. He did feel they played with the props (shoes) a bit too long, but Lil Mama loved that they used their minds and imaginations. Shane, of course, loved the bootie pop section.

As we were waiting for the winner to be announced, the audience was chanting “Quest Crew, Quest Crew, Quest Crew.” I mean, come on – if you saw the show, it really wasn’t much of a surprise that Quest Crew was moving on to the last chance challenge with Beat Freaks.

We saw the Beat Freaks creating their own song in the studio then they performed to “Freak the Dream.” Quest Crew came out and performed to “Orquestra.” Both performances were good, but it seemed like maybe the tide had turned towards Quest Crew as the audience was still chanting their name.
