America’s Best Dance Crew: The Banner Falls for Ringmasters
This week on America’s Best Dance Crew, it was the whack track challenge. The crew’s got a clique song that created a whack dance craze. They had to incorporate the old dance, but make it fresh.
The first crew to find out they were safe tonight was my boys Quest Crew. Personally, I think this competition is between Quest Crew and Beat Freaks, but that is just me. Not only is Quest Crew good, but there are plenty of people that have already seen Hok and Dominic.
Quest Crew got New Kids on the Block “The Right Stuff,” with the infamous crotch grabbing pendulum move. I love the thing where Hok was supposed to be upside down, but just had his clothes on upside down. Lil Mama thought they were clean. Shane said they could not be touched right now. JC thought they were great at highlighting each other.
Then, Strikers All-Stars found out they were safe. Ringmasters were once again in the bottom two, which I don’t really understand. The Strikers got MC Hammer “Too Legit to Quit,” with the big arm movement. They did a great job, even incorporating the Chinese typewriter, but I wasn’t sure why the one guy had his jacket on for so long after the other’s took their’s off. JC loved the performance – so much energy, but reminded them to clean up a little bit. Lil Mama mentioned the jacket problem, but liked that he kept going on.
Three girls crews (well except the one guy on Dynamic Edition) left and the next one to find out they were safe was Beat Freaks. I was so hoping that Dynamic Edition would be safe and not the Fly Khicks, who I have never liked and they were.
Beat Freaks got Offspring’s “Pretty Fly for a White Guy,” which one member said “Oh my God, that song is horrible.” I love that song, but they were freaked out because it was a rock song and not hip-hop! They had to do the Carlton. I liked when the two girls ran over to JC to get his autograph – that was funny. Shane talked about the head spin – she spun on her head for like 30 minutes! And that was the first head spin every from a lady on the show. Lil Mama loved every second of it.
Dynamic Edition got Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Achy Breaky Heart,” and its country line dancing. We saw drama going on within the group as one of the girls sat out during practice. I tend to not give these guys enough credit, but they are really, really clean crew. Lil Mama called them amazing and consistent with cleaness. Shane was wondering last week if he had seen their best, but he said this week put them on the map.
Ringmasters got “The Macarena,” which they felt was not really them. They had crew drama too! They actually managed to make the Macarena look cool – especially when they were wrapped around the other guys and doing it in the air. The Fly Khicks got “Everybody Dance Now” by C&C Music Factory, with the running rabbit. I liked when the girl ran up the other girl’s back. They were less cheerleadery this week, but I enjoyed Ringmasters more.
This week, the banner fell for Ringmasters. How the Fly Khicks keep staying on this show, I don’t know.
