America’s Best Dance Crew: The Banner Falls for Xtreme Dance Crew
This week, there were four safe dance crews and four crews in danger of leaving. The four safe crews were A.S.I.D., SoReal Cru, Super Cr3w, and Boogie Bots. The bottom four crews were Supreme Soul, Phresh Select, Fanny Pak, and Xtreme Dance Force.
The challenge this week was “Rock the Title” – the crews had to visually emulate the title of a song at least once in their dance. A.S.I.D. was up first with “Roll” by Flo Rida featuring Sean Kingston. Shane thought they did a good job, but Lil Mama disagreed, saying they were sloppy. Next up was SoReal Cru with “Snake” by R. Kelly. JC thought they started out slow, but Shane disagreed and loved that they never left the snake concept. I liked the snake wrangler bit where the girls pulled the guy in.
Super Cr3w got “We Fly High” by Jim Jones. Lil Mama said they “kilt” it and Shane was exclaimed “Oh my God!” I loved the airplane pose at the end – that was great. The last of the safe crews to perform was Boogie Bots (good to see them out of the bottom!) with “Game Over” by Lil’ Flip. This one seemed tough, but Shane loved the Transformers thing and JC thought the street fighter punch was hot.
Of the bottom four crews, Fanny Pak and Supreme Soul were told they were safe. Fanny Pak performed to “Toy Soldier” by Britney Spears. I think they are really starting to do better lately. Lil Mama loved their choreography and JC pointed out how hard it was to dance the first 10-15 seconds with the toy soldier feet on until they broke loose. Supreme Soul got “Elevator” by Flo Rida featuring Timbaland. Shane and Lil Mama both loved the ripple/peel off effect and JC said they used the stage well.
The dance off was between Xtreme Dance Force and Phresh Select. Phresh Select got “Big Things Poppin” by T.I. and JC said they were a bit sloppy but made up for it with their energy and imagination. Xtreme Dance Force got “Earthquake” by Tech N9ne. Shane thought they were pretty good, but chaotic and Lil Mama agreed.
Personally, I thought Xtreme Dance Force hit harder than Phresh Select, but the judges selected Phresh Select and the pretty boys from the burbs were sent home.
