America’s Dance Crew 2: Distorted X is Eliminated
The auditions are over for America’s Dance Crew and here are your top ten crews: Supreme Soul, Fanny Pak, Super Cr3w, SoReal Cru, Distorted X, Phresh Select, Sass x7, Boogie Bots, Xtreme Dance Force, and A.S.I.D. But, only five were safe tonight, the others were in the bottom five. Who was safe? From the South, it was SoReal Cru, who we learned has to practice on the streets at home. Their performance this week was “tripping” according to Shane and he said he saw them in the top two. Lil Mama cracked me up calling Ailyn “alien.” Also safe was Supreme Soul from the West division. However, they were cocky last week, but didn’t serve up this week. Shane said there was too much going on and Lil Mama was very disappointed. JC thinks they may be getting caught up in their attitude. A.S.I.D. and Xtreme Dance Force, from the Midwest, were both told they were safe. A.S.I.D. had a sexy dance set with the judges loving the dog thing. Xtreme Dance Force chose a Lil Mama song to dance to. She thought it was neat, but Shane called it “whack.” To make things worse, he said he had a 10 year old who could have choreographed that. Ouch. JC said they were tight and stiff.
This all meant there was only one team from the East that was safe and it was Boogie Bots. Personally, I loved their routine, but Shane expected more stuff, more creativity. JC felt they should have switched up the dance to the different parts of the song, but Lil Mama thought they were clean with smooth tricks.
The bottom five was Distorted X, Fanny Pak, Super Cr3w, Sass x7, and Phresh Select. From those five, Distorted X and Fanny Pak learned they were at the bottom and one crew would be leaving. But, before that, we got to see the others perform. Super Cr3w stole the show from everyone tonight. As Lil Mama said, they “turnt it up.” Shane said “Y’all just sh*t on everybody” – there wasn’t much JC could add to that! Phresh Start took it old school and Shane thought it was “hot” and loved the hat trick. Sass x7 – hello? – why are they here? It was too much like a half time show and even JC called them out for doing a no handed cartwheel, saying that was a “cheerleader move.” To me, they were the weakest crew tonight, but they were safe.
Finally, Fanny Pak and Distorted X performed. I want to dig Fanny Pak – I love the whole retro 80s thing going on, but I actually thought Distorted X was better. Shane said neither crew should be in the bottom two, but in the end, the judges sent Distorted X home. Everyone had better step up their game – this competition is about to get a whole lot tougher based on this week’s performance!
