America’s Got Talent: More Auditions
Well, finally next week is the final week of auditions for America’s Got Talent. I feel like we will see LA, NYC, and Atlanta again. Why couldn’t they just run them in order?
Anyhow, there were some good acts and some freak acts this week, as usual. Perry Zanett was dressed as a playing card trying to recite Shakespeare. Needless to say, he was not put through to Vegas. Nor was the Inflatable Theater, Sweet Lou (who couldn’t dance OR sing), or the Power Team (who crashed through stuff). Seed & Feed didn’t get through either, but it is just as well. It seemed like they had close to half a million people on stage, so it would have worked out to $2 each. Nor will we see Robert and Darryl, the snake kissers. Don’t even ask.
In the “Going through to Vegas, but I bet we never see you again” category is the Texas State Strutters, Shakes (the 10 year old hip-hop dancer), Georgia Force, and Ronny B (who falls into the Leonid the Magnificent/Boy Shakira freak category). I don’t know if the hand shadows guys are good enough. If you have ever seen the “Wonderful Life” hand shadow video going around the Internet and saw these guys last night, you know what I mean.
Now, people I think we will see more of are Michael Harrison, X.L., and Queen Emily. Michael Harrison was a great ventriloquist who has the unfortunate fate to follow behind last year’s winner, multi-millionaire Terry Fator. But, who knows, maybe Michael has a shot. X.L. – nice voice, looks good – I think we will see more from him. Queen Emily was the last act – you know, the one where someone great overcomes adversity to really shin on the stage and bring tears to everyone’s eyes. Seriously gang at AGT – mix up the formula a bit for us, please! I am tired of the last act always being like this!
