America’s Got Talent: MySpace Auditions

For the love of God, will the “America’s Got Talent” auditions never end? I mean, even “American Idol” doesn’t drag the auditions out this long.

Anyhow, tonight was the MySpace auditions, which I really didn’t understand. I mean, I know people sent in videos on MySpace, but they still had to come and perform live in front of the judges. Did AGT pay to fly them to the audition or what? And why let the sucky people audition if you already know they suck before they get there?

The Outs for Vegas were El Vegas (just oddly screechy), the Jumping Eagles (a jump roping troupe that got tangled up), Shaun Berkey (a singer who made me wonder “Why?”), Don Baldaramos (tried to do Shakespeare, but at least his last name made me giggle a bit), Ashley Groff (a girl who sounded both nasally and possessed), Eddie Green (with his Tina Turner puppet), and Heavy Vee (a hip hop dancer who the audience booed when she danced solo, but loved it when Nick joined her).

The Ins to Vegas were Ishaara (a Bollywood dance troupe), The Flash (jugglers), Duo Design (this strange Right Said Fred looking duo who did weird, yet fascinating acrobatics), Marcus Terell and the Serenades (although Piers tried to tear them apart by saying Marcus was the star and he needed to lose the girls), Charles DeWayne Dorsey (a singer/piano player with a good voice and a nice smile), Encore (a dance troupe that we got to see for about 5 seconds), Alycia Cooper (a comedian that we got one joke out of), and N2UN (a violinist and a pianist).
