America’s Got Talent: Night Two of Auditions

It was night two of the “America’s Got Talent” auditions. Manuela Horn was a dutiful mommy who turned into a giant, yodeling dominatrix when she came on stage. It was funny and cute and strange or as Nick put it “oddly entertaining.” She got through to the next round. I was not expecting the Transformers (or were they Terminators?) musicians comedians, whatever they were. They will be joining dominatrix Manuela in Vegas. As will Tom Durnin. Comedian? Magician? Dancer? Who knows! G-Force, a little girl’s group who sounds just like my son’s Kidz Bop CDs is also going to Vegas.

Rafael Serrano will have to keep his bouncing job because the disco diva thing just didn’t work out for him. But, he does get props for the splits at the end! More kids acts with Rickie and Erik. They were only eight years old and had already been dancing together half their lives! They were good for kids. Don’t see them performing in a Vegas show, but they are still going through to the next round.

The auditions stopped in Miami to find the next great talent. Unfortunately, they found Jennifer, who brought her luggage on stage. Okay, it wasn’t really her luggage; it was some contortionist or something. The audience hated it, but the Hoff laughed it up. But then illusionist Drew Thomas showed up. Despite his announcer voice, he was good. I was very impressed when he made himself reappear. The judges and audience loved, loved, loved it. Drew’s act could go over well in Vegas!

Sister act Alizma consisted of blond triplets. I was hoping they wouldn’t give the Hoff a heart attack! Didn’t expect them to play “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” but they were good. Well, until they sang. Even Piers said they couldn’t sing. But they were good fiddlers!

The next act was Janifer James, aka Nubian Beauty. That was just weird. She said people always told her they had never seen anything like that before, but I don’t think they meant it in a good way.

The show ended with 13 year old Arcadian Broad. He kinda reminded me of last year’s little baton twirling guy who was made fun of by other kids. The judges thought he was great, so off to Vegas he goes!
