America’s Got Talent: Some Acts Stay and Some Acts Go
The judges had a shock for the 113 acts that made it to Vegas – some would immediately go home without performing on America’s Got Talent. Well, if Piers, Sharon, and the Hoff didn’t put crap acts through to begin with… Anyhow, 19 acts were sent home and honestly, I have no idea who they sent home considering some of the acts they kept.
They decided to divide the remaining acts into similar groups. They would rehearsal together then watch each other perform. I honestly am not sure why Boy Britney or Boy Tina were put through to Vegas. One of the funniest bits of the night was magician David Martin. His curtain fell, we saw the girl’s body when we weren’t supposed to and yet, he insisted it was all part of the act and that the act went perfectly. He is like the William Shatner of magic and I don’t mean that in a good way. Of the kid acts, I don’t mean to be cruel, but I think Victoria, the contortionist is the only one with real talent (at least so far).
And to show what I know, the judges cut her. And poor little Shakes, the tiny hip hop dancer. They made him cry – it was so sad. But the kept the Baton Boy. I mean, his story was sad, but a baton twirler over a good young contortionist? Also leaving was big Kevin, the karate cinder chopping guy. For the dancers, they kept the fast brother sister duo, the Brokeback cowboys, the Texas girls – cannot remember their names. Actually, I cannot remember many of the acts we’ve seen tonight as they apparently put though some girl’s dressed as Angus Young and some prison inmate dancers. They kept the tap dancing dads. As the guy in the Vegas commercial says “Really?” For the impersonators they kept Boy Britney and Boy Tina (why God why?). But they also kept some good impersonators too (Young Elvis and Sinatra). David Martin wasn’t able to work his magic and convince the judges his act went as planned as he was the only magician I saw cut.
Then it was on to day 2 – the music acts. As far as the opera acts, they were all great and the judges rightfully kept them all. Even the dude dressed like a girl that sang the male and female parts was great. I love Neil though –he is so very good. For the kids – could they please have a separate AGT for kids that I could avoid? The kid acts always tick me off because the judges choose the cute acts to move on. Mia, the 15 year old who was good was sent home. But, they kept 9 year old David and 4 year old Katelyn. Seriously, is an adult going to pay $75 to see a 9 year old in Vegas? Uh, no!
For the female singers, the sent the best one I saw tonight home – the bluesy singer. For the guys, they kept the Chippendale dancer, the wedding singer, the Army guy that forgot the words, and the best one of the lot as far as I can tell, the dog fight hat guy. They did have the decency to send the Kelly Pickler wannabe home. For the group acts, they kept Nuttin’ But Stringz, showing they had not completely lost their minds. Yet, they kept the Romania sister duo who had it all…except the voices. What is up with that?
This show just frustrates me to no end year after year. I never understand why they keep some acts that obviously aren’t going to make it in Vegas – ever. And the whole drama thing about how hard it is on the judges to make the decision, blah, blah, blah. Oh well, next week is a new week and I am sure more bad acts will be retained.

I have decided that this show is fixed and entirely stupid. I am tired of seeing those with true talent being passed over in tears for acts that are entirely idiotic. Seriously, why keep someone who lights fireworks on themselves, or little bitty kids who are adorable, but can barely stay on pitch? I would pay to see the 15 year old girl they let go sing, but not the twins who are lovely, but sing very badly. The judges need a reality check and hearing aids.

They have lost their minds…they let all the talented people go and passed a very bad “man” Brittney go through??? They apparently don’t know what talent is being that they are washed up already!!
