America’s Got Talent: The Final 8 Are Chosen
The final 8 acts moving on were chosen tonight. I hated the way they did it – calling one name at a time, and then allowing that act to perform. The final 8 chosen were Robert Hatcher, Julienne Irwin, Terry Fator, Cas Haley, Jason Pritchett, the Glamazons, Butterscotch, and Sideswipe. Guess Piers badmouthing the kids helped them last week. I wasn’t happy to see the Glamazons in the final 8 over the Calypso Tumblers – I thought they were much more talented. Heck, even the Duttons have more talent than the Glamazons! I was also disappointed to see so many solo singers in the final 8 (5 total).
Everyone did fairly well tonight. Piers tore into both Julienne Irwin (saying he didn’t think she would be back) and Jason Pritchett (saying he should return to the cruise ship), but I didn’t think their performances were that bad. Piers praised Robert Hatcher and even loved Sideswipe this week. He liked that Cas Haley took his advice and put a reggae spin on the Commodores’ “Easy.” Everyone loved Terry Fator’s dummy Johnny Davis. He sang both Dean Martin and Tony Bennett this week. Butterscotch teared up after dedicating the song “My Funny Valentine” to her grandparents, but it was a great performance – “breathtaking” as Sharon put it. I think the final three may be Cas Haley, Butterscotch, and Terry Fator.

Terry Fader is a surprise every week. He’s older and more experienced than the rest of them and his impersonations astounded me. Especially Garth Brooks “Friends in Low Places.” If Terry doesn’t win my second choice is Cas Haley. Terry, please do Whitney Houston!!!! please!
