America’s Got Talent: The Final Audition Show

America’s Got Talent” is finally wrapping up the auditions – thank goodness. I have forgotten who all has been sent to Vegas by now!

Dance skaters Breaksk8 were good (Piers Xed them) and I mean they were using old school roller derby skates. The audience loved them, but Hoff said there have been a lot of break dancers and they were incredible, but he had to think about it. Piers said he loved everything about the act except the skates. Sharon liked the skates. Although Piers said no, Sharon and the Hoff both said yes, so off to Vegas they go. Also going to Vegas was Mosaic (singers), The Lollipop Girls (girl dancers – like the Hoff was going to say no to them!), Recycled Percussion (drummers who used not only drums, but ladders to make music), Jeffrey Ou (a pianist whose fingers were moving so fast, it was just a blur!), SQ Entertainment (break dancers), Koshka Raenelle (singer with a really big voice), and several other acts that got like 2 seconds of airplay and their names weren’t even flashed on the screen. Sigh.

8 year old singer Ciana Pelekai was as cute as she could be, but I don’t think children should sing Etta James. No, I amend that – no one but Etta James should sing Etta James songs! She was good for 8, but is she going make it as a Vegas act? Uh no, but they put her though anyhow.

The Beale Street Flippers bounce up and down the famous street in Memphis and they impressed both the audience and judges. They had the Hoff, Sharon, and Piers on their feet. Piers called it “Flipping incredible.” And, did I mention they impressed me as well?

Not going to Vegas are choir director Joseph “JoJo” James (I was hoping he wouldn’t be bad – he seemed like a nice guy, but oh, he was screechy), Brian and Anthony Lockard (pianist – well, sorta), Inara Darko (a singer that I thought was going to shatter the glass Xs above the stage), Scott Renkes (and his comedy circus, whatever that is), and Dr. Franklin Ruehl (who stuck straws in a potato).

After a recap (since the audition shows have been going on for six months), the show ended with an interview with Susan Boyle. She seems like a nice woman and can sing the heck out of a song, but I am kind of over her now.
