America’s Got Talent: Top 5 Perform
I thought we’d miss part of America’s Got Talent tonight due to the breaking new from the President about the economy. But, fortunately, we got to see all five act perform. It’s a good thing – this is for all the money! Weren’t here just three finalist last year? It is just me or do the rules of this show change slightly from year to year?
First up was Nuttin’ but Stringz. Again, what can I say about these guys? They are flawless, engaging, and exciting – as the Hoff would say “They are what this show is all about!” Yet, I know they have seen a bit of success since I had downloaded one of their songs from iTunes way before they appeared on this show. They had a segment on “CBS Sunday Morning” and they even had their music played during a montage for the Olympics. Do they deserve to win? 100,000% But, part of me still roots for someone like Neal E. Boyd, who sells insurance or Eli Mattson, who I think I remember saying he traveled by car from bar to bar performing. I guess I think Nuttin’ but Stringz is going to make it with or without “America’s Got Talent.” I love them, but I’d rather see one of the underdogs get their chance. Dang, I even feel bad writing that – they are so incredible!
Next up was Donald Braswell. As Sharon said, Donald has a nice voice and he is a nice guy, but like her, I don’t know if he has what it takes to beat some of the others. Sharon told him he belongs on Broadway. Of course, the Hoff disagreed.
Neal E. Boyd – I don’t even like opera, but I love his voice. I mean I got goose bumps when he hit that last note. Piers said he found himself in an uncomfortable position- he agreed with the Hoff that Neal had the talent and he would go along way.
Eli Mattson sand “Against All Odds” tonight. As much as I dislike Phil Collins, I love that song, so I knew I’d love Eli’s version. But he is so cool; he gives songs his own spin. But, I just have one question – where was his hat? I don’t think we’ve ever seen his without his hat. I hope it wasn’t his lucky hat!
Queen Emily went last, but she certainly shouldn’t be counted out. That girl has a VOICE! She brought the crowd to their feet. Piers said she would struggle to win against Nuttin’ but Stringz, but Sharon called her a diva.
For a show that I often talk trash about, after they weeded out the questionable talent, they certainly ended up with five winners, however as far as the judges are concerned, it has already been won by Nuttin’ but Stringz.
