America’s Got Talent: Will the Auditions Never End?

Well, it was back to Atlanta and Dallas this week for “America’s Got Talent.” Most of the acts tonight are moving on, though I question the judges decision on some of them.

First up was poor Michelle Wallace, who could barely talk, much less sing. I will never understand what possess people to go on a show like this and make a fool of themselves. Anyhow, after three quick X’s to her, it was time for Bruce Block. He made it to Vegas last year, but then his assistant quit and that messed him up. Sent home, he decided to try again this year. He did an act with a girl singing and dancing while he laid down on a bed of nails, then she sang and danced on him. The Hoff didn’t believe the nails were real, so he had to go stand on the poor guy – you could see the puncture wounds! So off to Vegas he goes for a second year in a row.

Some acts I just feel like are going to Vegas and we will never seen them again, such as Tina Turner impersonator Dorae Sanders (who didn’t even sing but lip-synched), Tropidanza (a dance troupe), Bryan Cheatham, an exotic dancer who to me yelled more than he sang, and the Zooperstars! Cute, but seriously, how far can it get?

Then there were the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, uh, I mean the Dallas Desperados, a cheerleading troupe. Xclusive was kinda weird – he did this robot routine, but maybe he will grow on me. I loved Fast Wally – I’ve never seen anyone juggle that fast! I know the judges are notorious for hating jugglers, but this guy was good!

The final act of the night was Donald Braswell, who had been a professional singer until he had his vocal cords severed 11 years ago in a car accident. The doctors told him it would be a struggle to talk much less sing, but he wanted to try it tonight. And he was good. The audience had obviously lost their minds because they screamed for the judges to X him, then finally came around and was cheering “Vegas” by the end. He will go to Vegas and hopefully we will see more of him.
