American Gladiators: Last Chance for the Final 8
This week, high school teacher Toni, age 46, went up against 28-year-old medical sales rep Kim. For the men, it was Alex, also a high school teacher, against Mark, a chiropractor and former distance runner for the Army. These were the final contestants before the start of the Final 8 tournament.
First up was Powerball, with Toni scoring nothing and Kim scoring a measly 4 points. The guys only faired a bit better with Mark getting 4 points and Alex getting 6. The girls jousted with Siren. She got in a few good hits with Toni, but then kinda swung herself into the water. With Kim, Siren fell to her knees, which is an automatic disqualification. The guys faced Earthquake with Militia. Alex, obviously outsized by Militia, tried to hang on to his leg to get a few points, but Militia kicked him free with 2 seconds remaining. Mark managed to knock Militia off only 6 seconds into the competition.
Toni was able to hang on in Hang Tought against Fury, but Kim couldn’t make it. Alex outfoxed Wolf, making it to the platform, while Mark took a dip. Both Toni and Kim fired the crossbow in Assault – the first two competitors to make it that far into the event. In Hit and Run, I think Alex set a record with 14 points – he was running like the wind!
For Eliminator, Toni had a small lead, but turns out, she didn’t need it. Kim had a lot of trouble with the wall – so much so that I was afraid the show would be over before she made it. Toni barely missed making the final 8 – she stumbled at the top of the Travelator and that cost her the finals. For the guys, Alex once again was on his game, knocking out Molivann.
The final 8 competitors are Andy, Anthony, Alex, and Evan for the men and Shanay, Venus, Monica, and Siene for the women.
