American Gladiators: The Final 10 Are Chosen
Tonight was the last night to get into the semi-finals. For the girls, it was the college student Adriana versus Tatum, the advertising sales rep whose last name just happened to be Yount, as in Robin. I assumed he was either her dad or uncle as a baseball Hall of Famer in the family was mentioned.
However, Tatum proved to be anything but an American Gladiators Hall of Famer as she failed to score a single point on any event. That’s right, she went into the Eliminator with a big old goose egg. Adriana faired a bit better, scoring enough points to give her a 4 second head start in the Eliminator.
For the guys, it was NYPD detective Anthony against former Marine Alexander, who was injured so badly by a grenade in Iraq that he was told he might never walk again. The guys really didn’t set the world on fire as far as points either, but Anthony got enough to warrant a 1 ½ second head start.
For the girls, Tatum caught up to Adriana, who had a bad time all around. She slipped taking off into the pool, she hit the wall trying to slide over to on the rope swing, she fell off the tight walk rope and was just hoping on the by the top rope. But, Tatum had trouble with the Travellator and Adriana caught up. However, she slipped on her first, second, and third attempts. Tatum finally made it up the ramp and won, but her time was too slow to knock Vanessa out of last place. So the girls going into the semi-finals are Ally, Tiffany, Abbe, Annie, Lillian, and Vanessa.
For the guys, Alexander caught Anthony at the rope swing. Alexander finished the hand bike while Anthony dropped. But, impressively enough, Anthony hit the mat running from the zip line then went right up the teeter-totter. The only problem is that both stopped at the bottom. Alexander did manage to get up the Travellator the first time and finished with a time of 2:08. That was enough to knock out the contender with my favorite name this year (Brick), so the guys in the semi-finals are Tim, Jeff, Mike, Randee, James, and Alexander.
