American Gladiators: Tim Sets New Season 2 Eliminator Record
This week, the American Gladiator contestants for the guys were Tim, a camp media director, and Alejandro, a marine mammal trainer. For the women, it was 20-year-old college student Annie versus 52-year-old investment broker Yoko (the oldest contestant so far).
The girls fell quickly on Joust and Pyramid, but the guys faired a bit better on Pyramid, with Tim getting past Titan to score 10 points and Alejandro getting past Wolf long enough to score 5 points. However, Alejandro made it up the Wall while Tim got the unfortunate luck of being paired with Rocket, who never lets anyone up the wall. Yoko too went down on the Wall, but Annie made it to the top for 10 points.
On Snapback, Tim wasn’t able to overcome Titan’s strength and got snapbacked, but Alejandro hung on for 4 points against Justice. Yoko almost caught up to Annie’s point lead in the off-screen events Hang Tough and Snapback. But, she only got 1 point on Sideswipe. Annie started off well, but forgot to get a ball after depositing her first one then was taken down. Tim showed some heart when he almost fell off the platform on Sideswipe, but hung on to get 1 point. However, Militia didn’t take him out that time, but got him right after that.
Going into the Eliminator, Annie only had a ½ second lead, but that is all it took as the 20 year old outran Yoko, winning with a time of 3:00. For the guys, Alejandro had a 2 ½ second head start, but Tim caught him on the swim and passed him on the ropes. I’ve never seen anyone do the hand bike as quickly as Tim did and he made it up the Travellator the first time, to set a second season record time of 1:23, which tied Evan’s first time of season one.
