American Idol: Amanda is Eliminated
It must suck to be the last person eliminated before the final ten (who get to make extra money by going on tour). But, if it does suck, you really couldn’t tell by Amanda’s reaction. Maybe it is because she is a rocker, but she was cool as a cucumber when it was announced her time was up. And so we had to say goodbye to the Leather Tuscadero look-alike last night.
Possibly more shocking than her elimination over the cat with nine lives Kristy Lee, was the fact that Carly was in the bottom three. Carly had her shot at fame a while ago, with an album heavily promoted by MCA (they spent $2 million), so I am sure she is fearful her golden opportunity is evaporating again.
Anyhow, there was a lot of fluff, as usual with the results show. We learned that the mentors this season would include Dolly Parton (that should be fun!), Neil Diamond, Mariah Carey, and Andrew Lloyd Webber. We got to see Kelly Pickler sing – she is certainly doing a whole lot better than I ever thought she would have. And learned more about where the Idol Gives Back money went.
