American Idol: Anoop and Lil Go Home
The Kodak Theater was green tonight in honor of Earth Day, but two”American Idol” contestants would be blue as they would be leaving tonight since the judge’s saved Matt last week. But before anyone left, they all learned choreography for the opening song from Paula Abdul. Wait, that one part just looked like the Soul Train dance line.
The first results were for Lil. Ryan asked her to walk to the far side of the stage and then told her the journey was ending for her tonight. Wow, no playing with the results tonight! I am like Paula – why didn’t she sing like that last night?
Okay, I love Freda Payne and the song “Band of Gold,” but it was a hit in 1970 – way before disco. Am I crazy? By the way, I wikipediaed Freda – that woman is 66 years old! She looks incredible for her age. I know makeup can do a lot, but she didn’t have the arms of a 66 year old woman! And did the band screw up poor Thelma Houston? The song didn’t start out right – she seemed to hesitate. Oh well, at least it was a true disco song. What? KC and the Sunshine Band? Oh, it looks like many of the “band” had sex changes because I remember them as guys. I don’t know how old KC is, but now he looks more like he should be on “The Sopranos” than on a disco stage.
More results as Kris was asked to stand up. His work hard paid off – he is safe. Adam was asked to stand up, just as a formality no doubt. Of course, he was told to sit down. Danny was asked to stand up. After a round between Simon and Ryan, Danny was told he was safe. Anoop was asked to stand up and told by Ryan he was in the bottom three. There should be a stool with Anoop’s name on it by now.
Allison and Matt were asked to both stand up. Ryan told Matt he was safe, which meant Allison was in the bottom three. Okay, it has to be Anoop leaving – it just has to be.
But, before we could find out, David Archuletta sang. The suspense was killing me. I really didn’t want Anoop to go home, but Allison is so incredible. And, it was Anoop leaving. But, it is sad that Allison has been in the bottom three so many times.
