American Idol Auditions – San Antonio
Eleven thousand people showed up at the Alamodome to audition for this year’s American Idol. Poor Brian – he had Paula and Randy banging their heads, but didn’t make it through. Haley was okay – she struck me as this year’s Katharine McPhee. Jasmine – I kinda felt sorry for her at first. As soon as she started singing, Randy and Paula were laughing. Yes, that was rude, but they were not rude to her before she started singing as she said. And she may have been shy, but she certainly wasn’t shy about telling the judges where to stick it. I love the “go back to British” thing. Let’s all go on television and make idiots of ourselves!
Simon said Baylie was born to be a popstar. Maybe, but I found her to be boring…zzz. The cousins – they were so cute! I am glad that Akron made it to Hollywood and William (who couldn’t sing his way out of a paper bag) was so happy for him. Simon was mean to Sandie. Yes, she was terrible and I couldn’t understand what she was saying, but he made her cry. I cannot imagine her singing for the mayor of Houston though.
I was shocked when Paula and Randy said no to Ashlyn. She was such a pretty girl and could sing, despite the weird facial gestures. I was also shocked when Simon said it would have been a yes from him. I am glad they called her back and gave her a second chance, even though she did the facial gestures again. Was it just me or did Jacob look a bit like the Bush Baby guy? I liked Jimmy, the little fun Ruben as Simon called him. When his little girl, cousin, neice, whatever she was so “So?” when he said he was going to Hollywood, I cracked up.
Finally, the door segment was too funny! I liked the girl that broke through the closed door when she got her golden ticket. Why can’t they just put up a sign or better yet, open both doors?
Unfortunately, we still have more auditions tonight. I thought it was over!!!!
