American Idol: Carly Goes Home
I don’t know what it has been – I like Carly’s voice, but there is just something missing. She doesn’t have the wow factor as Randy would put it. At least not for me. I don’t know if it is her look, her lack of a look, her voice, her personality (she seems nice enough), but there is just something that I felt would not make her the next American Idol. And apparently others felt that way as Carly went home tonight.
Ryan mentioned Brooke’s start and stop over and over – you could tell she was embarrassed, but it must have helped when Andrew Lloyd Webber said he thought she had a real future. Both Davids were told they were safe – no surprise there. When Brooke and Syesha were called on stage, I wondered if Brooke would be in the bottom two because of her gaffe. But, I tried to call to vote for her last night and after 40 straight minutes, I never got through. It was announced that Syesha was in the bottom two. Simon said that Brooke made herself human last night. When Carly was named to the bottom two over Jason, Simon said Jason wasn’t good, but charming last night. Randy was shocked by the bottom two – said it seemed to be a “popularity week.”
In the end, after 38 million votes, Carly was sent home. And, after Simon gave her a compliment! He apologized for the “kiss of death” but told her she could leave with her head high. She seemed to be okay with the decision.

What is so good about Brooke white ? a second rate carly simon and comes off as a phoney, there is something dishonest about her that I just can’t put my finger on. I really do not think there is a audience or market for her , probably just getting multiple votes from a group of people in her region. it should be just 1 vote per household or charge for each vote and donate to charity
