American Idol: Hollywood Week Begins!
There were 147 American Idol hopefuls at the Kodak Theater and it was make or break time. They got one song that would determine if they stayed for another day or packed their bags for home. At the end of the day, only 104 remained.
Actually, we didn’t see many leave. Well, we did but we didn’t get many names and frankly, after all the auditions, I can hardly remember anyone anyhow. Dennis Brigham was sent home and he was none to happy about it. Told the judges they sucked and told Simon he had on cheap pants and a shirt. Jesus Valenzuela was sent home too as was Jessica (who lived with her grandmother) and Sharon (the girl with the dog). Paula and Simon almost fought about Erika Wesley. She was sent home, but Paula seemed to want to keep her but Simon had the final say so.
Those making it were Lil Rounds, Nathaniel Marshall (although Paula didn’t like his song), Anoop Desai, Jasmine Murray (Kara said she had a raw talent), Rose Flack (despite a tough time at rehersals), Stephen Fowler (he was good!), Jorge Nunez, Von Smith (despite Simon saying it was indulgent nonsense), Norman Gentle (this guy kills me – he is a joke, but he can sing!), Scott McIntyre (the blind guy), Frankie Jordan, Jackie Tohn, Danny Gokey and his friend Jamar Rogers, Katrina Darrell (the bikini girl), Jeremy Michael Sarver (the roughneck), David Osmond (yeah!), Emily Wynn-Hughes (despite a horrendous last minute song change), Alexis Grace, Brent Keith Smith, and Adam Lambert.
