American Idol: Hollywood Week Continues
Lots of tension tonight on American Idol as it was group round. Unfortunately, we got to see a lot of two singers I was hoping we wouldn’t see any more from – Tatiana and Katrina the bikini girl.
Both caused much stress within not only their group, but Tatiana was able to upset another group. Tatiana’s group thought she was psycho, so she decided to leave her group and go to Team Compromise. They didn’t really want her, but once they decided to accept her, she decided to go back to her group. Flacky. Then Team Compromise started fighting each other, with Kristin wanting to rest her voice and Nancy insisting on practicing.
Meanwhile, over at the Divas, Katrina decided she had been in heels all day and went to bed while the others felt they needed more practice. At least that was her story to Simon. Actually, she had been butting heads with Rose and went to bed in tears. The next morning, the rest of the group hadn’t heard from her, so they went up to her room. First, her roomie told them she didn’t feel good and didn’t want to see them, but when she finally did, she gave them the impression she wasn’t coming down to perform. Of course, she did, which ticked off everyone else.
The first group out – White Chocolate – was the best group I saw. India Morrison, Justin Williams, Kris Allen, and Matt Giraud all made it through to the next round. Of course, plenty of other people did the unthinkable – they forgot the lyrics. Jorge Nunez made it through, but the girls on his team didn’t. Going through with Jorge was Nick. Or Norman Gentle – whatever name he was going by now. I am just waiting to see if he makes it to the top whatever they are having this year.
Half of the Action Squad Alex Wagner-Trugman and Anne-Marie Boskovich – made it while the other half – Ryan Pinkston and Emily Wynne-Hughes – didn’t. But Ryan put on a great performance, saying he felt he had been “manipulated and assaulted” and he saw “evil” in Paula’s eyes.
All of the Rainbow Coalition – Danny Gokey, Jamar Rogers, Taylor Vaifanua, and some other girl they never named – made it. So did Jeremy Michael Sarver, Adam Lambert (the more I see of him, the more I like him), Matt Breitzke, and Jesse Langseth.
On the Divas, only Jasmine Murray made it. Rose forgot her lyrics (which I hated – I liked her). Simon said he could tell they didn’t practice together and Katrina tried to make excuses for not being there for her team. When Jasmine was told she was staying, Rose and Lauren hugged her, but not Katrina. She’s just a great example of how you can be so beautiful on the outside and not so much on the inside.
David Osmond didn’t make it. That made me sad. Tatiana Del Toro did make it. That made me sad too.
And finally, it was Team Compromise. You could cut the tension with a knife and even the judges sensed the uncomfortableness. When Kristin McNamara and Nathaniel Marshall were told they were safe, Nathaniel tried to hug Nancy Wilson, but she pushed him off. As she left the stage, she cursed Kristin.
All in all, 75 contestants are left.
