American Idol: Hollywood Week Winds Down
Seventy two American Idol hopefuls found out tonight if they were moving one step further or not. There were four rooms, each with people both anxious and nervous to find out what their results were.
I loved it when Nick Mitchell, frustrated over not being taken seriously as himself, decided to do his final performance as Norman Gentle. I don’t know what it is, but I love this guy and he is a pretty good singer. Tatiana was moved from one room to room four, which worried me because that was where Nick was. It seemed as if everyone was second guessing their performances.
After Simon took off for London, Randy, Paula, and Kara had to deliver the good or bad news. First was room two. Of course, the judges did the “well, it was tough and we are sure you did your best” thing before telling them they had made it. Among the contestants in that room were Alexis Grace, Joanna Pacitti (despite forgetting words!), Casey Carlson, Nathaniel Marshall, Kai Kalama, Stephen Fowler (who had to restart his solo then quit early), Jasmine Murray, and roughneck Michael Sarver.
Hearing the cheers, room three was nervous and rightfully so. They were told this was the end of the line for them. That means we won’t see anymore from India Morrison (who was so cute in the group song), Michael Castro, and Leneshe Young. Room one found out that they would be going on. This included Adam Lambert, Jorge Nunez, Kristin McNamara, Anoop Desai, Danny Gokey, Jamar Rogers, Scott MacIntyre, Lil Rounds, and Jackie Tohn.
Hearing the cheers, room four was disheartened. But, after Tatiana had her breakdown, Paula told them they were safe too. In room four were Matt Breitzke, Nick Mitchell, Cody Sheldon, Ju’not Joyner, Anne-Marie Boskovich, and T.K. Hash.
I know I’ve missed some names, but tried to get everyone I recognized. Tomorrow night, the remaining contestants are narrowed down to the final 36. I am hoping Nick makes it!
