American Idol: Idol Gives Back
Tonight was not an elimination night for American Idol, but a night to give. This star studded spectacular included almost every celebrity there is today. There was Snoop Dog, George Lopez, wrestler HHH, NASCAR driver Jimmy Johnson, and Maria Shriver. Ben Stiller had a funny gig about trying to raise money with his album of Whitney Houston covers called “Stiller Whips Whitney’s Ass for Charity. Kobe Bryant (what was up with the band aid – does he think he is Nelly?) showed up as did the Peyton brothers, Eli and Payton.
I would give money if Teri Hatcher promised to never butcher “Before He Cheats” again – that was borderline painful. They put the top 12 to work by making them answer the phone lines. What benefit would be complete without Bono? I wonder what the rest of U2 does while he is doing his humanitarian work. Ann Wilson of Heart looked like a 300 pound version of Carly Smithson and what was up with Fergie prancing her skinny butt in front of her then doing the one handed cartwheels? I know Ann wanted to slap her.
We saw Forest Whitaker, Annie Lennox, David and Victoria Beckham (hey, they make the big bucks, they should donate some denaro themselves!). Jimmy Kimmel made fun of Simon, saying they should take a bit of the money to buy shirts for Simon that fit. Simon laughed, however, he didn’t find Robin Williams’ joke about his man breasts all that funny.
Miley Cyrus – did someone clone her because I swear she shows up on everything I watch? She and dad Billy Ray went back to Kentucky. If I had been them, I would have had to have bought that poor family a new trailer – that was so sad. After seeing Brad Pitt (whose mic didn’t work, but the sound lady said it was an excuse to touch him), Daughtry, and Mariah Carey with Randy playing bass, the show ended.
