American Idol: Kristy Lee’s Time is Up

Tonight was the results show, but first, what was up with Paula’s outfit? She looked like she was decorated for Christmas! She had on a necklace, a flower, and a scarf all around her neck.

There were some funny viewer calls like the woman that wanted to know the difference between what Simon said was a karaoke performance, a theme park performance, and a piano bar performance. He just said they were all horrible and not what they wanted to hear. And, one girl wanted to know which of Paula’s songs reminded her of Simon. While Randy hollered “Cold Hearted Snake” in the background, Paula said definitely “Opposites Attract” and told Simon she would never be “Forever Your Girl.” Elliott Yamin and Mariah Carey both performed tonight to drag the show out even more.

Ryan divided the contestants up – Jason, Carly, and Syesha (did she have some serious Prince Purple Rain hair going on or what?) and David C. on one side and Kristy Lee, and Brooke on the other side. Carly said Simon was too hard on her, but he said it was only because he thought she had great potential. David A. was told by Ryan that he was safe. He swapped David C. and Syesha (saying he had too many Cooks on one side). Then, Ryan asked David A., a 17 year old kid, to choose which side he thought was safe. Ugh, I hate when they do that! David A. just sat down in the middle of the floor. Ryan told David A. if he wanted to be with the group that was safe, he should scoot towards David C., Carly, and Jason.

So, it was Brooke, Syesha, and Kristy Lee that were in the bottom three. Ryan told Syesha she was safe. He then asked the judges what they felt about the bottom two of Brooke and Kristy Lee. Simon said he thought this was the end of the road for Kristy Lee, which really upset Brooke. But, he was right – the seemingly never-ending bottom run of Kristy Lee was over. Maybe the guy will sell her back her horse though.
