American Idol: LA Auditions
Ten thousand hopefuls turned out for the LA auditions of “American Idol” but only a lucky few were chosen to go…down the street to Hollywood.
Among those we may see more of is Jim Ranger and Tasha Layton, who are both ministers, Mary Powers, who got a big smile from Day 1 guest judge Avril Lavigne, Andrew Garcia, who reminded me of Elliot Yamin, and Chris Golightly, who was a foster kid.
Day 2 judge Katy Perry seemed to spar with Kara, but I think they just make stuff up to make the show seem more interesting at times. Not that I found that particularly interesting, but I am sure someone must have. Does anyone else miss Paula’s wackiness? And tonight made me really go “What is this show going to do without Simon?” I think we all know the answer to that question.
There were a lot of “nos” tonight including “I’m not leaving” Neil Goldstein, who really did leave, AJ Menoza, who said he sent a track to Adam and he loved it, but the judges said absolutely not, Austin Fullmer, who did an odd Mick Jagger singing Cheap Trick impersonation or as Randy called it “Cheap Jagger,” and Jason Greene, who was just campy. Dude, take it to a drag show, you will get a better response.
