American Idol: Matt Gets Saved!
After seeing the American Idols go to the 17 Again premiere, Ryan asked Allison to stand up. She found out she was safe. Ryan called out Adam – do we even need to hear the results? Well, I listened, just to make sure – he was safe. And apparently, he likes the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Then Ryan told Anoop he was in the bottom three for the third week in a row.
Tonight’s show was filled with performances by others. First up, there was Jennifer Hudson. Then Kris and Lil had to stand up. Wow, Simon said Kris was brilliant last night. Lil joined Anoop on the bottom three stools. Then, he had Matt and Danny stand up. Randy said Danny worked out the boring rendition of “Endless Love.” Hum, I dunno about that! Ryan played around with words again and Matt had to join Lil and Anoop. Ryan called all three to center stage then told Anoop to sit down. That shocked me a bit that Anoop was safe over Matt.
Of course, we needed another performance before we found out who was really going home. Does Miley Cyrus ever sleep? That kid is everywhere. I swear she and the Jonus Brothers (who also apparently never sleep) would perform at the opening of a bag of chips!
Lil was told she was safe. Simon said that they would consider saving one person and it might be a surprise, which led me to believe it would be Matt. After Matt sang, Simon asked him how many times he had been in the bottom three, and then said he wasn’t as good tonight as last night and he didn’t really have a chance of winning the competition. Then, Sir Simon told Matt it was good news – Matt was saved. Then Simon brought up the bad news that next week was Disco night and two people would be going home. Ah, leave it up to Simon to rain on everyone’s parade.
