American Idol: Michael Goes Home
And, I am NOT happy about it AT ALL! The only positive things from this episode were seeing cameos by Eddie Izzard (one of my favorite comedians) and Stanford from “Sex and the City.” I still cannot believe Michael was on the bottom. I thought his “Dream On” wasn’t bad, even though Randy and Simon thought it didn’t really show who he was. Simon had predicted Carly would be in trouble and she was, as was Syesha (again).
But Michael? After Ryan announced those were the bottom three, he then said, “Syesha…and Carly, you are safe.” Well, the crowd and Paula just looked confused, like they didn’t understand. It took a minute for it to sink in to me – “That means Michael is gone.” Ryan said Michael was the bottom vote getter. Callously, he mentioned that last year, the bottom idol didn’t leave on the “Idol Gives Back” week. Then, he said “But, this week, we say goodbye to Michael.” Augh – I wanted to jump through the television screen and strangle Ryan. Why even bring it up if it isn’t going to happen, Ryan? Here, how about rubbing a little salt in our wounds!
Paula looked absolutely stunned – mouth dropped almost to the table. Simon said Michael was a very, very good singer, which was a nice compliment. I still just cannot get over it. And, yes, I voted for Michael this week.
