American Idol: Salt Lake City Auditions
Ah, Salt Lake City – the home of American Idol runner up David Archuleta and the judges were hoping for another Archie. Could they have found him in young, innocent, likeable senior class president Austin Sisneros? We will have to find out if we see more of him in Hollywood.
The good singers were David Osmond (seriously, who is going to say no to an Osmond in Salt Lake City?), Frankie Jordan (she was cute and Simon liked her), Megan Corkney (the judges loved, loved, loved her-pretty girl BTW), Jarrett Burns (who was good, but we didn’t see much of him, other than him waving his ticket at the end and jumping for joy), Taylor Vaifanua (who moved back to the US from Samoa to pursue singing as a career), and Rose Flack. Such a sweet girl who had been dealt a tough hand, losing both parents by the time she was 15, but with the support of her best friend and her family and a beautiful glow about her (not to mention a great voice), I think we will see more of Rose.
Those missing the boat were Tara Mathews (the Goth girl who claimed she wasn’t), Chris sorry-I-missed-his-last-name and his friend the big pink bunny, Andrew Gibson (not Simon’s definition of soul), and about a thousand other people who were quickly flashed before the screen.
