America’s Got Talent: The Semi-Finals Continue
More semi-finals for America’s Got Talent. This week we had a basketball dunk team (Team Acrodunk), more musicians (Caitlyn Taylor Love, Bianca Ryan, Rapping Granny, and the band Ten 13 Complex), magicians (Elliott Zimet and Nathan Burton), a juggler (Kenny Shelton), an electric violinist (Sonia Lee), and Trey Knight’s Stilt World. We saw Stilt World on the commercial before the show even started and really wanted to see this act. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see them until the semi-finals – something I really dislike about this show.
The basketball people were okay – I do admire the leader who I think said he was 42. Caitlyn Taylor Love seemed like a beauty pageant contestant, which she was. Sonia Lee – I am sorry, but I felt like Piers on this one. I had said she sounded like nails on a chalkboard before he did! Elliott was better last time and while I didn’t think Ten 13 Complex was that bad, the judges thought they were horrible. I think I made my feelings for Rapping Granny known last time, but in case you missed it…this is just a novelty act. She should not have gotten this far in the competition if they are trying to be serious (as they repeatedly tell us and the contestants they are). Same goes for Kenny Shelton. He dropped whatever he was juggling in his initial audition, but got another chance. They didn’t offer that consideration to Stilt World the other night.
Of course, it was not small surprise to me that they chose Rapping Granny. I am sure she is a nice old woman, but the Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies clothes are starting to wear thin on me. So now, they have 4 singing acts in the finals and one gymnastic/dance act. Like I said before, this competition should not be open to singers – they have American Idol. No one else will have a real chance at this show (and it is being renewed for a second season) unless they ban singers.

Granny is good. but not worth winning a million dollars. Rapping is very easy to do and with a little practice anyone can do it. Her outfit is so corny. The best ones on the show are Bianca Ryan, Taylor Ware & Nathan Burton. Its time to say bye bye to granny.

The best talents on America’s got Talent are Taylor Ware, Nathan Burton & Bianca Ryan. That is my opinion.
