Anna Trebunskaya
Anna Trebunskaya was very successful her first season as a professional dancer on “Dancing with the Stars.” In season two, she and partner Jerry Rice came in second behind winners Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke. This season, she will be paired with model Albert Reed.
Anna began dancing at the young age of six. Her parents owned a dance studio in Russia, so it was only natural that Anna would take to dancing. She won the first competition she entered – at the age of seven.
She and her parents moved to the United States when Anna was 17 years old. In 1998, she was named the USA Amateur Youth Standard (Ballroom) Champion. In 2003, she was a Blackpool Rising Star Latin finalist. She won the 2004 USA Rising Star Latin Championship. And in 2007, she was a National Professional Latin Finalist. While her dancing looks effortless on the small screen, she has to practice very hard to keep her competitive edge. She trains six days a week. Her training includes dance, Pilates, ballet, yoga, and gym work.
Currently, her professional partner is Pavlo Barsuk, but she married her “Dancing with the Stars” co-star Jonathan Roberts this past September. The two did not get to take a honeymoon. They were too busy getting ready for the start of the “Dancing with the Stars” season premiere on September 24th!
