Another Contestant “Quits”
I liked that tonight’s Quickfire Challenge used Bailey’s liqueur. Once again, Cliff said “I don’t know anything about this” but came out the winner (remember when he won the ice cream quickfire challenge?).
The Elimination Challenge paired the Orange (Betty, Marcel, Sam, and Ilan) against the Black team (Michael, Cliff, Mia, and Elia). Their challenge was to cook hors d’oeuvres for L.A. Magazine’s holiday party. It basically boiled down to the Orange team doing, what I thought was too many and the Black team doing not enough. Betty caters these types of events and the Orange team made 13 different items. The Black team decided to go for quality over quantity and did three – well, until Michael and Mia decided to add a fourth hors d’oeuvre (surf and turf). It seemed like the people enjoyed the Black teams dishes, but they kept running out. I think it was poor planning on their part.
Even though the judges admitted that the Orange team had some dishes that were just okay, they had a great looking table that was always filled. To have empty trays just seemed unacceptable and the Black team was the losers. Cliff had immunity, so it was between Michael, Mia, and Elia. Mia, for some reason, seemed to have an attitude and was cussing and yelling in front of the judges. She was afraid they were going to send Elia home, which I agree since she was the team leader, but Mia said she would go home before she allowed that to happen and Tom said okay. My question is – did I miss the judges saying who they were actually going to send home? I am assuming it was Elia, but I don’t think they ever said exactly. I think Mia was homesick anyhow.
