Apolo Anton Ohno wins season 4 of Dancing With The Stars
After two hours that seemed like two days the champions of season 4 of Dancing With The Stars were announced, and I was thrilled to find out that it was Apolo and Julianne who walked away with that hideous mirrored ball trophy. Congratulations to those two! I’ve liked Apolo since the beginning but really became a fan of his during the middle of the season. I think any of the three finalists were worthy of being champions, but I’m especially happy that it was Apolo.
I have to say that I absolutely love Laila Ali. I don’t think there is a fake bone in that woman’s body and I loved how when Tom Bergeron asked her how she felt about finishing third she said pissed. Good for you! Do you really think the eliminated stars before her (in all of the seasons) didn’t feel the exact same way as she did tonight? She had the guts to come out and say how she felt, and I think that was so awesome.
Ultimately I think the judges’ scores were what determined the winner. With that scoring formula the judges scores account for half of the total, but I think that placement on the leader board has weight to the score too. It was ironic that the finalists finished in the exact order of the judges’ scores. When it comes down to the end I guess the judges really did decide the winner, huh?
I’m anxiously awaiting the Dancing With The Stars tour this summer (my tickets are already in hand) and season 5, whenever that is set to air on ABC.

I don’t think the judges have that much influence. Sure, their scores make a difference, but so do the voters. I’ve heard that Apolo’s vote count was higher than all the others combined. I think the reason Joey was once at the bottom two is because people who were splitting their votes between Joey and Apolo decided to give Apolo all their votes, because they were afraid he would be eliminated. They were the two favorites, but when it came to the crunch, Apolo was their main man.

That’s definately true. I do give all of the contestants credit as you can definately see that they are putting the effort into the competition. However I agree that some names are bigger than others and have a better reach concerning the votes from the public.
