Big Brother 9: Parker and Jen are Eliminated
The show started out by zeroed in on Amanda and her gossiping. Then she tried to get Natalie involved and everything just blew up. Amanda said James and Chelsia were going to put up her, Alex and Natalie and Matt, but Chelsia denied it. Then Amanda said she had heard James say it (all I heard him say was they needed to win HOH), but Chelsia said they were one. The fight went on and on with Joshuah getting involved for some reason.
Then, he did the thing that everyone this season has been doing. He was going well with his argument, but then he overstepped the boundaries. It seemed the whole house had ganged up on Amanda in the courtyard when Joshuah (I think it was) said Amanda had done nothing, to give her a halo. Then Chelsia chimed in “or a noose.” Still doing fairly okay, but Joshuah opened his mouth and said “Just like her father.” Whoa. To me, that was equally as bad if not worse than Adam’s ridiculous “retard” comment, which has several autism groups up in arms. What was Joshuah thinking? You don’t make fun of someone who shares with you the fact that her father killed himself. That is just common sense! Amanda said Chelsia and Joshuah both apologized many times, but in my eyes, you just can’t take something like that back once it has been said.
Then, Jen started opening her mouth. She plainly told Sheila that Ryan was a “racist.” Then when Sheila told Ryan and Ryan confronted her, she denied it, saying she told Sheila that Ryan has race issues and hated she had dated a black guy. Sheila said Jen was throwing Ryan under the bus and he seemed all pissed off, telling Jen that “I don’t have much to say to you,” etc. But then, before the voting, both confessed their love for each other. Go figure.
Although everyone liked Parker, they hated Jen, so the couple had to go. Which is one thing I DON’T like about this season. Unless Joshuah has an urgent matter to attend to outside the house, Parker isn’t coming back. Frankly, I wish the partners could switch – I’d much rather see Parker in the house than Joshuah.
The HOH competition was answering questions like the majority would, but it also meant the house would have to adhere to the decision for a certain amount of time. So, no hot water for 72 hours, the women wear bathing suits for the next 24 hours, they lose their drinking cups for a week, which will be bad when they have the Margarita Party they chose. They also will have the women cook dinner for a week and go without the washing machine for two weeks.
t the end of the competition, James and Chelsia had done just what James said they had to – they won HOH.

Do they purposely choose people who are totally insane for this show? I know that people’s crazy gets highlighted on reality shows, but this is beyond the pale.

I dunno. I don’t really care for this season. I don’t know if it is because everyone is young (except Sheila) or what. I think part of it is people I like, like Parker get kicked off only because they were paired up with insane people like Jen and it wasn’t even because of anything they did – he didn’t choose Jen. Maybe it will get better…
